EyeQ, I think I have the problem that you're getting solved. I wasn't expecting HTML in the description, so that was breaking the parsing. I've uploaded a new version that works for me on all 15 pages of your TA account. You can use the same link to download.

Hopefully that will solve the problem for you and Martinator.

Miss E: Do you have the .NET Framework 2.0 installed? If not you can get it via Windows Update.

I am trying to help my girlfriend use MoblogImport to migrate from TA to MoblogUK. No matter what I try, I always get ``Error Sending Mail: There was an arror sending mail, retry? [Retry] [Cancel]`` I have .Net 2.0 and Windows XP Home SP 2. I only have one entry in my textamerica moblog, and I can`t get it to send.

The downloading part works great with the `Red Sea` template, `Images on Left`, etc.

If you're getting an error sending mail, check your SMTP settings in the options dialog. Make sure the smtp server you're trying to use doesn't require authentication.

Worst case scenario, you could always download, save it out to disk (it will save the images, as well as generate an xml file for viewing them), and then send the image over to MBUK manually.

Ah, I forgot to mention - since this software was written, I've set up an SMTP server at mail.moblog.co.uk

The server will ONLY accept mail addressed to the moblg.net domain (otherwise it would become a spam relay in seconds), but it should work fine with MoblogImporter.

This is a very handy program, except it only gets pictures from the first 15 pages. I have 26 pages of photos on textamerica, so I'm hoping there might be room to support a greater number in a future version.

Also, a simple way to save all photos to the hard drive instead of emailing them would be a great help.

I can't seem to get the app. to run and am getting the same error as MissE. Just used the tool to pull down all my photos with no problems. Thanks for doing this. It saved me doing it myself.

Jeremy: Can you give me a link to your TextAmerica page so I can see why it might stop in the middle of the download? There's no limit to how many pages it can grab, so there must be some sort of parsing issue. Also, there is a way to save the files out to disk. If you do File -> Save... it will prompt you for a location to write out the files. It will then save all the images, and also generate a handy xml/xsl file combo that you can view in any modern browser.

The Kitola: Go to Windows Update. You'll be presented with Express or Custom options. Choose custom. After it finished scanning on the left hand side there should be a link for "Software, Optional." Click on that and you should see "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019)" Add that to your list of updates and then install!

Euphoria: I just tried to download your TextAmerica content and it worked just fine. Are you still having the problem? That error message can indicate a generic problem contacting the url, you might have just been having network issues when you tried earlier?

EyeQ: Can you run the importer and go to Help -> About, and tell me exactly what the version number you see is? It should be v0.4.2361.30606. I've tried your TA account and it works just fine for me...

Yes it's vo 4.2361.30606 I even dl'd it 2x since this a.m. to be sure.

The specified URL (http://eyeq.textamerica.com/) is not valid or could not be reached. Make sure the protocol i.e., http://) was included.

Euphoria posted the same issue in my blog please check it too if you have the time...

Like I said to Euphoria, that's a generic message it will give when it's unable to contact that url. Can you hit the url in a web browser?

Oh, and I just noticed the reason it's stopping at page 15. I didn't realize that TextAmerica wasn't giving the pagination links for all pages, it does 1-15 first, and then if you have more than that, there's a link to show the next 15 pages etc. I'll have to make some modifications to the importer to support that. But in the mean time, if you just start with the url for page 16, it should work... (i.e., http://eyeq.textamerica.com/?qs=xdefault&page=15)

Hi there. Nice little app... few questions. Will it only upload to MoblogUK, or can it use any site that will accept image messages via e-mail? What can I do if I don't have an e-mail address that supports POP3/SMTP? I suppose my Gmail address might be sufficient?? Finally, does this little importer download the text as well? Sprint saves all my images, but I would like to keep the captions of all of my images if I could. THANKS!

Jeremy, I think the Save option in the File Menu of MoblogImport will save your imported pics to your hard drive.

Brett: It will upload to anything that supports receiving images via email, so something like flickr should work just fine, although I haven't tested it to be sure. If you don't have an SMTP server you can send through than I'm not sure what to recommend. Find an open relay and hope it's not RBL'd maybe ;).

Martinator, I'm not really sure what's causing that problem. I am unable to replicate it myself. When I point the importer at your TA account, it works just fine...

Can you post the url again so I can verify we're looking at the same site?

I assumed it was only picking up the first 15 pages because that's all that is displayed by default. In order to see pages 16-26 you have to be on page 15 and then click the next button ">>". I appreciate you taking a look at this.

Doh, I just saw your explanation of this problem above. I'll keep my eye out for a fix. It seems like maybe your workaround might get the photos out of order.

I got a couple bugs for ya. I tried to download my stuff, I got the first 15 pages just fine. Then, I tried to get the remaining pages. I started at http://neonelixir.textamerica.com/?qs=xdefault&page=15. It just kept going and going and going, I had to terminate the app when it tried getting into page 60+.

Second, I tried to load my moblog using http://neonelixir.textamerica.com/?qs=xdefault&page=0. All the program did was download every image on the first page fifteen times.

When I did it the first time it did the first 15 pages wonderfully and I was pretty happy to see it. Anything we can do here so I can get the whole site? I tried setting my TA to display 100 images per page, it just displayed 60 and listed links for pages 1-14. Oh well.

Brett you're a genius! I don't know why it didn't work for you, but I just set my TA site to display 40 images per page and it condensed my site from 26 pages to 12. All photos show up, and Moblog Import was able to snag them all to the hard drive. Brilliant!

I'm glad it worked for you Jeremy. I have 1,388 posts, so it's a bit trickier. When I set it to 100, I'm pretty sure it only showed 60 posts per page, but listed links for 14 pages at the bottom. There were definitely more pages though (I changed the URL up a number and i got older stuff). Sooo I still need some sort of resolution.

mb-myusername-password@moblg.net in the To: and
smtp server as smtp.gmail.com

Is this the way to go? Coz I can't send the email out. Thanks

Ahhh... That was quick. It's great to know the solution is already there :) Perhaps it can be isolated at the blog paragraph itself as it is buried somewhere in the middle of the discussion.
