Small Victories

Yesterday Lance Armstrong rode 100-some-odd miles at a rate of 32 miles per hour. Today I rode 4.74 miles in 18-some-odd minutes for a rate of 15.2 miles per hour. Tour de France here I come! As soon as we get the cash to sponsor our own team anyway...complete with jerseys that say, "Bonjour" on the front and "Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys" on the back.

Ok, that's just nuts! I hit 31 miles an hour on the STEEP downhill on my way into work! That freak is _maintaining_ that speed (or more than likely bursting over it and then dropping down a bit on hills). Granted, the early stages are mostly flat, and things won't get interesting until they hit the mountains in a few weeks, but it's still nuts.

I'm going to embarass myself for knowing any of the following information, but, it was in the team time trials that he they maintained that speed, so they had the benefit of drafting each other or what not, which i'm sure helps alot, but still, they're all freaks. my top speed on the little downhills i ride is like 24mph!! ofc i don't have a road bike which makes it harder.
